feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Oct. 4 brings to a close the Season
of Creation for 2017. What will we take away from this new church
season, supported by Pope Francis, that began Sept. 1 with the World Day of Prayer for Creation?

Before
the Feast of St. Francis, the Italian diocese encompassing Assisi is
cutting financial ties with fossil fuels, joining more than three dozen
Catholic groups in marking the patron saint of ecology and "Laudato
Si'."
