SUNDAY BULLETIN - ST PATRICK'S PARISH – OCT 8th
SIN CITY AND
A REIGN OF DEATH
Lots of people go to Las
Vegas to play at the slots and other games of chance. Gambling is not really a
sin to play the games but some people can't control their desire to win and
think, “the next spin, I will win.”
Sometimes you might win,
and most times you will loose. The House has the odds in their favor, so you
will not break the bank, so to speak!
As most people have heard
and seen on TV, there was a great “Loss of Life” that has taken place at the
country western concert. There have been 59 lives lost so far and 527 people
wounded.
The person who did this was
prepared to shoot and kill at random. Why? We do not understand, but he rained
down bullets, not shooting at anyone but rather at everyone. We cannot
understand the heart of the killer but, for sure, hate ruled his heart.
We pray for all those who
suffered such a frightening assault by this one angry man. Only God can sort
things out as to the why. Thank God for those first responders who were able to
help the many to escape to safety.
May God bless and comfort
those who died and also those wounded. Let our prayers go out to all who
experienced such a tragedy.
God Bless, Fr. Michael, O.S.A.
