Henri de Lubac on Vatican II’s Dei Verbum
Dr. David Grumett is an expert in Henri de Lubac’s theology, and today he joins us to discuss de Lubac’s work on “Dei Verbum.” He and Andrew discuss the continued importance of Dei Verbum in the life of the Church. David highlights de Lubac’s focus on divine revelation as an immeasurable gift that God makes of Himself to us and the importance of our faith as a response to this self-gift. David also touches on the importance of Sacred Scripture in Salvation history and the key differences between a Protestant and Catholic approach to the Bible. This episode will not only give you a new appreciation for Scripture, but also for de Lubac himself as he increasingly becomes a more well-known theologian.
