Kim Il-Sung was a Good Presbyterian Boy

Sep 26, 2025
In this episode, we trace the sacred origins of the Eternal President. Long before he became the Sun, little Kim Il-sung was just a Presbyterian boy in Pyongyang, singing hymns, attending Sunday school, and playing organ at American-built churches. Raised in the so-called “Jerusalem of the East,” Kim’s early life was soaked in scripture, salvation, and seminary-trained elders. But after a few decades, he replaced Jesus with Juche, hymns with the Song of General Kim Il-sung, and the Holy Trinity with himself. From the underground resistance to godless statecraft, from sermons to surveillance, this is the miraculous tale of how a church-going boy became the god of a communist state. Subscribe, unless you’re too busy rewriting the Bible in Pyongyang.
