"No Kings" over 60,000 people participated in downtown protests
The "No Kings" protests, held in multiple U.S. cities on June 14, 2025, drew an estimated 5 million participants across over 2,000 locations, according to organizers. In Philadelphia, the main event saw tens of thousands march, while New York City had an estimated 50,000 participants. In San Diego, police reported over 60,000 people participated in downtown protests.
The protests were organized as a response to President Trump's policies and actions, coinciding with the US Army's 250th Anniversary Parade and Trump's birthday. The name "No Kings" is derived from the perceived authoritarian behavior of Trump and his administration, and the protests were part of the 50501 movement, which aims to have 50 protests in all 50 states.
