A DEAL, PERHAPS

Our President seems to be moving to sit down with North Korea and seek an honest commitment to take away the threat of a nuclear strike. With goodwill, many things can be agreed upon and I pray that this could be the start of a process to improve relations between the two countries, North Korea and the USA, and the surrounding countries.

The deal was “on,” and then “off,” and now it is “on” again. Not the best of beginnings. Nothing can be started if they don’t sit down and talk. Disagree, sure, but talk and investigate what can be possible.

North Korea has been a nation in isolation since the 1950’s, when they decided on a trust to end the Korean War. I am not hoping for a simple solution to a complicated problem. Maybe step one and maybe, just maybe, step two and exploring a future of
Peace.

God Bless, Fr. Michael, O.S.A.

Sunday, June 10, 2018 — Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
We, the church of Saint Patrick, in the community of North Park,
of the Roman Catholic Diocese and City of San Diego,
declare this to be our primary mission:
to come together to celebrate the Eucharist,
hear God’s word proclaimed,
give praise and thanksgiving to God,
and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe that by freely sharing our faith, talents, and treasures,
we discover Christ’s presence among us and bring Him to others.
We have a strong desire to give and receive love, service, peace, support,
and fellowship, within our families, our parish, our community, and the world.
Open to the power of the Holy Spirit, we pursue this mission faithfully and lovingly.
