This is our second ministry launch in the area of "relational justice" -- the idea that creating spaces for relationship-building across lines of prejudice and privilege can be truly life-changing for all involved. That's what we've witnessed thus far with our refugee mentoring program, Sumitra.
We hope this will be an initiative that will speak to you, your church, and your friends. No matter where you are on our journey of faith -- or where you live in the county -- there is a foster youth waiting to befriend you. In fact, there are over 70 on a list waiting for a mentor right now! Come by this Wednesday night to learn more about the next step, and if you can't make it, let me know and we'll get you up to speed.
In other good news, with the help of a $35K United Thank Offering grant, we now have $111,700 in pledges for our kitchen upgrade project. If you'd like to contribute to that effort (or learn more about it), click here.
