Mission Week 2015

Mission Week Starts Now!

In just a few minutes (Monday @ 12pm) around 35 high school students from Hoover, Crawford, and Gompers High Schools will arrive at UrbanLife to participate in our Mission Week Spring Break service project.
These high schoolers will give their spring break to serve their community, running a day camp for local elementary school kids in our Refugee Tutoring Program. They will also do fun activities like laser tag in the evenings, and hear powerful gospel messages each night.
Would you pray for our week? Pray for a successful day camp, for our high schoolers to get impactful leadership development, and most of all, for powerful encounters with Jesus that will change their life. Keep our staff in your prayers as well. This is one of the most important weeks of the year for UrbanLife!

UrbanLife Leadership Development:
The Come Up

Want a glimpse of how UrbanLife does some powerful leadership development? Read our latest blog post about the Come Up Leadership retreat that used the Passion Week to challenge our High School students to face the darkness in their own life, with Jesus by their side.
...During our retreat, we focused on the events that occurred within Passion Week. The high school students examined how Jesus and the surrounding people initiated and reacted to key events in the passages. We learned the root Hebrew word for passion: suffering. To better illustrate passion, we watched the film The Passion of the Christ.  The film exposed a lot of darkness!
