Files Supreme Court Brief for Hobby Lobby, Conestoga
On
behalf of Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood, NAE Legal Counsel Carl Esbeck wrote
and filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court against the
administration's mandate to cover contraception in company-offered health
insurance plans even when doing so violates the religious beliefs of the
owners. The case will be heard on March 25, with a decision expected in

Statement
on the Syrian Refugee Crisis
The
NAE and World Relief are deeply concerned about the situation in Syria, and
together submitted a statement for the hearing on the Syrian Refugee Crisis
before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and
Human Rights on Jan. 7. The statement was filed as written testimony for the

Marriage Week USA
The
annual campaign for churches across the country to collectively focus on
fostering healthy marriages will take place February 7-14. Check out the calendar to see if there are events

USA and NAE President Leith Anderson discussed how affordable weddings can help
address delayed marriages.

Vicalvi is the NAE’s 2014 Centurion of the Year, which is an award for leaders
who have exemplified commitment to the ministry of evangelical military
chaplains. David Cyr, Executive Director of the NAE Chaplains Commission, said
that Paul is “a shining star among military chaplains — well-educated,
committed to long-standing service and a religious freedom advocate.” (read more)

Chaplains Lay Wreath at Arlington
Members
of the NAE Chaplains Commission laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Jan. 16. At the ceremony, chaplains
honored their brothers and sisters in arms. (read the press release)
