NAE Update

In a meeting with President Barack Obama and senior White House staff in July, national Christian leaders, including three NAE board members, asked the president to protect funding for programs for hungry and poor people in the ongoing budget debate and in any deal concerning the default crisis. The NAE filed its second brief in Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission seeking protection of the right of churches and other religious organizations to define who is a “minister.” (read more)
Evangelical leaders tweet, update their Facebook statuses and connect with each other on LinkedIn. According to the May Evangelical Leaders Survey, 91 percent are on at least one social networking site. (read more)
The NAE will cosponsor a college student conference at Cedarville University Oct. 20-22. The conference’s goal is to promote a high-level conversation about immigration in a way that honors the example of Jesus Christ and the written word of God. Student registration is only $45 per person. (read more)
NAE Friends' Events
The North American Mission Leaders Conference is jointly sponsored by CrossGlobal Link, Evangelical Missiological Society and The Mission Exchange. This annual event convenes one of the largest and most diverse groups of evangelical leaders around their shared passion for the Great Commission, including local church pastors, missions professors and mission agency leaders. This year’s convention will be held in San Diego (Sept. 30-Oct. 2) and Atlanta (Nov. 18-20). It’s a place where youthworkers can be refreshed, renewed and recharged to return to the ministry with energy, vision and even more passion for impacting a generation of teens for the kingdom of God.
