EDUCATION IS BULLETPROOF

You are cordially invited to the

EDUCATION IS BULLETPROOF CONTRIBUTOR’S CONFERENCE

January 31, 2008 12pm-1:30pm

Earlier this month, in light of San Diego’s gang-related homicide rate having increased 133% since 2005[1], Reality Changers presented its hometown with a new, citywide initiative.

Beginning in 2008, Reality Changers will offer a $100 college scholarship, named the Education is Bulletproof Award (EBA), to students in San Diego – any real revolutionary – who have lost a brother, a sister, a mother, or a father to gang violence and nonetheless seek to pursue a college education.

In order to change the realities of San Diego’s inner city, I need your help. And that is why I extend an invitation to willing community members, all city and county leaders, and their representatives to attend the “Education is Bulletproof” Contributor Conference set for Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 12pm. The location of the event will be announced one week prior and you can sign up to attend the conference on our website, www.realitychangers.org.

At the conference, Reality Changers will share the strategies behind the initiative and ask those in attendance to draw upon their own personal resources (or the resources accessible to them through their business or agency) and match all or part of the initial $100 EBA scholarship being offered by Reality Changers to every family that loses someone to gang violence this year.

If 260 members of the community – just 1 out of every 5,000 San Diegans – put their money where their heart is – each of these grieving families can be consoled with the opportunity of four years of free tuition at any public university in California and, as a result, change the reality of San Diego’s inner city.

In fact, most inner city teenagers today know more people who have been shot or killed in the street than people who are on the road to college. As a community, we will put a stop to this vicious cycle student by student, family by family, and neighborhood by neighborhood.

Thank you very much for your continued support and we hope that you will you seriously consider attending and/or contributing to the Education is Bulletproof Conference.

Sincerely, Christopher Yanov
