Serving

Adopt-A-School Program: Harbor Church is honored to call Hoover home, and you can help us bless our home by serving in one of the following ways:

Mentoring at Hoover: If you are interested in mentoring a child (hanging out with) for 30 minutes at Hoover on a once a week basis (on the Hoover campus), then contact Chris Brewster at chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.

Get Up, Get Out: Once a quarter, Harbor joins with other churches and agencies in the area to beautify the Hoover campus. If you are interested in participating, then contact Chris Brewster at chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.

Young Life: We are partnering with Young Life to invest in the spiritual development of inner-city youth. If you are interested in hosting a BBQ or getting involved with the club meetings, then contact Chris Brewster at chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.

Pregame Meals for the Football Team: In partnership with the Urban Youth Collaborative and Horizon Urban Ministries, we are providing a pre-game meal for the Hoover Football Team. If you are interested in helping serve or provide food, then contact chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.

Monthly Coffee & Bagels for the Teachers: If you are interested in helping pickup and deliver coffee and bagels for the teachers of Hoover, then contact chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.

Cleaning Hoover: Each week one of our community groups will be cleaning a different part of Hoover High School in an effort to beautify the school. Feel free to join in with an existing community group if you want to help.

Helping Inner-City Youth Swim: Inner-city youth often don’t have access to swimming lessons. Harbor is teaming up with the Rosa Parks Learn to Swim Program to see this changed. If you are interested, contact Kate Duncombe at ktduncs@gmail.com.

African Alliance Assistance: If you interested in helping refugees, immigrants, the economically challenged, and the underserved become self-sufficient, productive members of San Diego, then contact Chris Brewster at chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.

Mercy in Community: The best way to do works of mercy and justice is in community. In fact, the only way to do sustain a life of doing justice and loving mercy is to do so in community. Therefore, we encourage you to join a community group because each community group will be doing works of justice and mercy together on a monthly basis. If you are interested, contact chrisb@harborpc.org or 619-495-8153.
