The North Park Community Association and several other North Park groups have joined together to take action against the sale of illegal drug paraphernalia in 'smoke shops' around North Park. Here are some of our reasons:
--These stores encourage illegal drug use and promote drug use as a way of life.
--We want responsible and family-friendly businesses in our community, not those that promote breaking the law.
--Stores are in youth-sensitive locations: near bus stops, a Head Start day care program, elementary schools, churches and family dining.
--Property values decrease as illegal activities increase.
