ARE YOU KNOWN BY HIM?

Matthew 7: 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.’

Some of the most confident people at the final judgment will be turned away - and they will be people who served in Jesus' name. This video looks closely at Matthew 7:21-23, one of the most unsettling passages in the Sermon on the Mount. It is not a warning aimed at unbelievers. It is aimed at people who prophesied, cast out demons and worked miracles. We look at what the word "know" means throughout Scripture, why Jesus says "I never knew you" instead of "you never knew Me", and why the direction of that sentence changes everything. And it does not end in fear. The last part of the video walks through what the Bible says about how a person comes to be known by God at all. If this gave you something to think about, leave a comment - what did this passage mean to you before watching?
