San Diego mourns death of Pope Francis at age 88

 

 

Former San Diego Bishop Cardinal Robert McElroy, now archbishop of the Washington diocese, praised Francis for “embracing love” which led the pope “to be a prophetic advocate for the poor and the dispossessed, the unborn and the immigrant, the victims of war and the earth which is our common home.”
