Christ United Presbyterian Church weekly update for December 31, 2020

Christmas 2

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. (John 1.5 NRSV)

Here is the weekly update for December 31, 2020.

+Our weekly worship takes place each Sunday on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CUPCSD. We post the video every Sunday at 6AM.

+We now have a YouTube channel. Use this link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHQIPiP5uJ4liOSJJtclXgg or put Christ United Presbyterian Church San Diego in the search box.

+There is also a proper sermon page on the church website. Click on worship and then scroll down to SERMONS. The sermons are posted each Tuesday.

+As a way to enhance our worship, and to foster the togetherness of Christ, a group of about twenty of us log onto Zoom at 9AM each Sunday morning to watch the Service for the Lord’s Day together.

+On each third Sunday there will be a Zoom fellowship at 1130. The next third Sunday is January 17, 2021.

+Adult Sunday School takes place at 10AM via Zoom.

+Giving continues as an opportunity. https://christunitedsd.org/donate/And of course, you can mail in contributions.

+There will be a new elder/deacon orientation Saturday, January 16, 2021 via Zoom at 10am. Save the date. 831 0196 9074/807757

+On the Martin Luther King Day Sunday (1/17) this year, Pastor Nathan will speak to the topic, The Sound of Silence. Looking at the 1967 King speech at the Riverside Church in New York City, Nathan will talk about the double edged sword that is silence. Silence is a valuable spiritual discipline. Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46.10). And sometimes we need to break silence and speak up for justice.

And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father only son, full of grace and truth. (John 1.14 NRSV)
