| CALLING ALL ARTISTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ North Park Main Street is looking for artists to paint approximately 10 utility boxes within the North Park Business District. NPMS will provide all paints and supplies and a $100 dollar stipend per utility box. If you are interested, please read the instructions and submit your proposal to North Park Main Street no later than
October 9, 2009 for consideration.

| SAVE THE DATE: TASTE OF NORTH PARK! - Saturday, Oct 3rd ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hosted by NPMS, the inaugural Taste of North Park will take place on Saturday, October 3rd from 1-5pm along University Avenue and 30th Street. Taste of North Park is a self-guided walking tour, during which ticket holders visit participating restaurants, galleries, and boutiques to sample one or two special menu items.
Tickets are available for purchase online NOW ($30 Advance Purchase, $35 Day-of) at www.tastenorthpark.com. Experience the diverse cuisine and culture of North Park; join us for the "Taste".

| RESIDENTIAL HISTORIC WALKING TOUR (DRYDEN DISTRICT) - Sunday, Oct 3rd ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The North Park Historical Society (NPHS) will host a on Saturday, October 3, 2009 that will feature historic homes in the Dryden District along 28th Street and Pershing Avenue between Upas and Landis Streets. Meet at 28th and Upas Street ("the Portal") at 9:00. The tour is offered at $10 per person, which includes one copy of guidebook on day of tour.

Join our guided walking tour of the North Park Commercial District on Sunday, October 18, 2009. Meet at the historic North Park Theatre (29th St. and University Ave.) at 8:30 am. The tour is offered at $10 per person, which includes one copy of guidebook on day of tour.
The Commercial District tour is about a 1 mile walk lasting approximately 1 ½ hours and will feature 30 buildings (exteriors only). Your advance registration helps us with planning. DONATE TODAY FOR THE 46th ANNUAL TOYLAND PARADE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our committee is in full-swing planning the North Park Toyland Parade, a local tradition since 1930. This year's parade will be held on Saturday, December 5th beginning at 11:00 am. Save the date now!
The parade is hosted by North Park Main Street, but would not be possible without donations from local residents and business owners like you. North Park residents and businesses provide various levels of donations ranging from $10 to $1,000, each with corresponding levels of recognition within the community. With your support, the Toyland Parade Committee will be able to reach our fundraising goal of $20,000. We hope you will consider supporting this valuable North Park event!

| Ribbon Cutting Event for New Trees ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ North Park Main Street (NPMS) would like to extend a warm thank you to the San Diego Architectural Foundation, Country Supervisor Ron Roberts, and Councilmember Todd Gloria for taking part in the Ribbon Cutting Event celebrating the recent planting of 50 trees along 30th and Upas Streets.
NPMS woud also like to acknowledge the San Diego Urban Forestry Department and the North Park Maintenance Assessment District for all their guidance and continued support for this wonderful tree planting project. We hope the everyone in the community will enjoy these trees for many years to come!
