June 22nd ~ 9 A.M. at Hoover High School

Called to your Job? - Come hear Steven Garber, one of the nation's leading thinkers on faith and vocation, discuss what it means to be called by God to your job. Come Sunday, June 22nd, at 9 A.M. in the Hoover cafeteria. Childcare Provided.

Steven Garber is the Director of The Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation, and Culture. From his earliest days immersed in the world of higher education, he has been a teacher for many people in many places over the years. He has a particular interest in the habits of heart that sustain individuals and institutions, as well as in the relationship of popular culture to political culture. The author of The Fabric of Faithfulness: Weaving Together Belief and Behavior During the University Years, he was a long-time member of the faculty of the American Studies Program on Capitol Hill. Formerly the Scholar-in-Residence for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, and Fellow and Lilly Faculty Scholar at Calvin College, he serves as a Senior Fellow for The C. S. Lewis Institute and The Fellows Initiative. His most recent writing includes chapters in the book, Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalogue. A native of the great valleys of Colorado and California, he is married to Meg and is the father of five children. They are members of The Falls Church, a congregation that has been a community of Christ’s people in northern Virginia for nearly 300 years.
