Thurs. - Sat., January 17-19, 2008Jesus gave the church the command to make disciples of all men and to observe all His teachings. As we unite in faith the Holy Spirit will empower the church to spread the gospel to every nation in the world. Only then will we see Him face to face!
“I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” John 17:23 (NLT)
The emphases this year are reconciliation of the Body of Christ and mobilization of the African American Church. This conference will provide information to foster genuine cooperative ministry efforts among the diverse segments of the Body of Christ. There will be information offered to “jump start” churches, agencies or individuals to be involved in their communities and go into the world. This seminar will challenge local evangelism ministries, churches, and experienced multicultural missionaries, to take a good assessment of their own contributions to spread the gospel.
If you are a lay member, evangelist, pastor, mission leader, mission committee member, or anyone responding to the call to be a light to the nations, this seminar is for you! Some topics to be discussed:
- How can black and white pastors become a band of brothers?
- What are the best resources to mobilize the local church for global missions?
- Reports from the field: How are African Americans changing the world?
- How can my church send a short-term mission team?
At last year’s seminar the African American Missions Manifesto was endorsed by all those present. The text and some applications are now available at www.afammissionmanifesto.org You’re encouraged to link to it, where applicable.
