The Presbyterian Church USA has recently made a decision to eliminate their foreign missions' program. Why? Around 15-20 years ago they made a decision to go in an open and affirming direction, since then they have lost over 1 million members! With that decline they have essentially run out of money so the first thing to go is missionary work, but they will still retain some ecumenical advisors.
