University Heights & Northern Area of North Park BURGLARIES

Keep an eye out for suspicious characters and be sure to lock all windows and doors.

We are seeing a big increase in burglaries in the University Heights and Northern area of North Park.  Western Division Detective Tom Jacques has been assigned to the series of cases.  So far, Det. Jacques believes the suspect (no information at all) is primarily finding and open windows or doors and is taking laptops.  The suspect is most likely putting the laptop into a pillow case, as this is commonly another missing item.  In some of the cases the victim had only been gone on a quick errand and in all but a few cases the homes have been unsecured.  Please pass the word to friends, neighbors and relatives of increased burglaries and encourage everyone to lock all doors and windows when they depart their residences.  If any suspicious individuals are spotted please call 619-531-2000 and report your observations and a detailed description with last direction of travel.
