Parenting forums: Proliferating profanities Last month sponsors reportedly threatened to pull advertisements from Mumsnet, a British parenting website. Apparently they were wary of being associated with the increasingly foul-mouthed language on the site. Analysis of one of its discussion forums shows that they are right: use of strong swear words has tripled since 2008, mostly in complaints about husbands’ emotional distance, flagging libidos or adulterous tendencies
